  12. Got everything wrapped up… originally planned to use tapered inserts since my previous knuckles had been reamed for the larger than GM tie-rods (though same taper, just deeper) however the drill got away from me & wallowed out the holes a bit. With my kids, my own & everyone else’s safety in mind, I opted to put stock knuckles on reamed to fit the GM tierods. I also got the Ironman 4x4 Fab stubby adjustable shackles installed which helped get the shackle angle ideal. lastly I finally got the busted driver’s seat tore apart, welded back together & reinstalled.
  13. Some minor updates. Finally got around to welding the spare tire mounts & took advantage of Harbor Freight’s Memorial Day weekend 20% off for ITC members by buying a Badlands 9500 winch & winch plate. I need to pickup some more steel, primarily 1.5” angle so I can rework the deck for the winch. That will also involve adding the diamond plate to the dovetail, the front 10-12” of the deck & redecking it. Plus adding a few welded in shackles
  14. Now it’s in the shop for Ruff Stuff y-link steering, fix the busted driver’s seat frame, oil change & install Ironman 4x4 Fab adjustable rear shackles.
  15. Some updates on the Cargo Tray install:

As said in another post wife and I are faily new to VA. Moved about 6 years ago. We have a few newer jeeps. 2009JK, 2018JK Rubicon, and a 2020 Gladiator. Been doing Jeep Jamboriees since 2020, but do head to NC (Uhwarrie) a few times a year. Just picked up annual passed for all the jeeps last weekend. One JK has been off roaded but nothing serius yet. Now that we have the 2018 for the wife the 09 is mine to work on. It has 200K on it, tons of NY rust but still fun to be on trails with.

While its not in VA, its close by. This weekend is SFWD Trailfest in Colamont Off Road Park. Its a newer park north of Chattenoga TN and is owned by the town. Cool little park. Camping on site. Great local pub in town. Headed out Thursday AM for the weekend.

Glad to see this back online. While new to the area (7 years) my area really has little to no jeep clubs or info. We tend to end up in NC alot wheeling.
  33. Looks good. I need to rebuld my car trialer. For years we have towed our 2009 JK with a tow bar behind a camper. This year the wife picked up a 2018 JK that we plan for trails and is too high to flat tow so car trailer needs to get fixed up.

Bobblets Gap is a natural surface two-track that starts on the south side of the Blue Ridge near Montvale, Virginia, and traverses up the mountain. At the top, it goes under the Blue Ridge Parkway and back off the north side of the mountain range, where it intersects with the Appalachian Trail and a few other foot and horse trails. The northern terminus is near Buchanan, Virginia. While not technically difficult, the trail is narrow, often with a drop-off a few feet from the tracks, and with a few scattered spots wide enough for vehicles to pass. No campsites are available along the route. Cell service is spotty at best.

Mild, stock friendly trail. A couple of creek crossings, which depending on recent weather can become difficult or impossible to pass. Stay on the trail, as private property can be found on either side.
