  1. Here is a recent "in memory" restoration we did to a nice Jeep YJ. This customer lost her husband a year prior. This was his hunting jeep that he took in the woods. It was beat up scratched, rusted, faded and everything else you wold expect out of a woods jeep. She wanted to put it back to pristine condition to preserve it and drive. So.......we began by media blasting the entire underside, acid treating the remaining rust, then doing a full POR15 Undercoat job on everything. The frame looks like you could eat off of it now. We then stripped the entire body down to bare metal and addressed every dent, rust bubble, ect. We primed and blocked it 3 times and put a factory PPG color and Clear back on it. She wanted to go back with the original style Sahara package stripes and logos like it came. We then went and refreshed her existing body plastic (bumpers and flares). Rather than getting new aftermarket, we cleaned, treated, and applied our spray on bedliner to them. It was a very tearful reveal day and we are happy to see this great Jeep every now and again locally driving down the road.

  2. Hey everyone, good to be here. Some of you may know us as we have done work for you in the past. For those that do not, My name is Richard, I own and operate Dark Forest Garage. We are a classic car restoration shop founded in 1978 located in Elliston VA. Though classic cars and trucks are our specialty, we also do several other things to pass the time and help our customers out. We will be making a few posts showing some of our stuff and hopefully giving you guys some ideas and tips for your rigs as well. To kick things off..........

Here is a 1978 Ford Bronco we recently did a LOT of work to (body and paint). Though I doubt you will be seeing this on any trails, it sure turns heads. We are proud to say the owner has been taking this to many local shows and recently won 3rd. place overall and best in paint at a larger local show in Dublin. It was also featured on the cover and centerfold in Bronco Driver Magazine. Always a pleasure working on great vehicles like this and putting them back on the road where they belong.
